2026 British Grand Prix: Charles Leclerc won at Silverstone ahead of George Russell and Lewis Hamilton after a late Safety Car finish and post-race penalties.

Charles Leclerc won the 2026 British Grand Prix at Silverstone, with BBC Sport and Formula1.com reporting that George Russell finished second and Lewis Hamilton third after the race ended behind the Safety Car. Motorsport.com and RaceFans reported that Leclerc started second, passed polesitter Andrea Kimi Antonelli at the start and took his ninth Formula 1 win. He arrived at Silverstone fourth in the drivers' championship on 108 points, behind Antonelli on 179, Russell on 154 and Hamilton on 147.

BBC Sport, Autosport and Motorsport.com reported that Max Verstappen crashed at Stowe with six laps left, bringing out the Safety Car that remained to the finish. RaceFans and Autosport reported that the FIA later said a software error caused confusion over whether there would be a final-lap restart. BBC Sport also reported a four-day attendance record of 564,000.

Post-race, Autosport, Motorsport.com and RaceFans reported that Carlos Sainz received a penalty for incorrectly unlapping himself under the Safety Car. The same outlets reported that Hamilton kept third after stewards issued a reprimand over a yellow-flag infringement. BBC Sport reported that Antonelli and Verstappen failed to score.
