Bearman Ferrari stance emerges amid Aston Martin talk

News - 2026-08-03 - By Jenny Marsh

Motorsport.com reported Oliver Bearman has reiterated his Ferrari commitment and played down Aston Martin links as his long-term F1 path stays open.

Oliver Bearman’s long-term future remains a matter of reports rather than confirmation, but Motorsport.com reported that the Haas F1 Team driver has reiterated his commitment to Ferrari’s driver programme and played down the prospect of a near-term move to Aston Martin. The British driver sits 13th in the 2026 drivers’ championship on 18 points and has started 36 Formula 1 races across Ferrari and Haas F1 Team since 2024.

The same outlet also reported that Bearman sees Lewis Hamilton’s form at Ferrari as a complication in his push for a full-time seat at Maranello. Ferrari’s scale underlines that challenge: the team has 250 wins and 16 constructors’ titles, while Aston Martin is still seeking its first Formula 1 victory and first constructors’ crown.

Formula1.com, in a separate academy-focused piece, reported that Rafael Camara has pointed to Bearman’s route as motivation in his own Ferrari-backed progress. Taken together, the current reporting suggests Bearman still views Ferrari as his main target, while the Aston Martin link remains unconfirmed.
