Bearman keeps Ferrari aim amid fresh F1 reports

News - 2026-08-04 - By Jenny Marsh

Motorsport.com reported Ollie Bearman sees Ferrari as a harder target with Lewis Hamilton winning again, while Aston Martin links remain unconfirmed.

Oliver Bearman’s long-term Ferrari ambition remains the clearest reported line around his future, while any Aston Martin link is still unconfirmed. Motorsport.com reported that the Haas driver has acknowledged Lewis Hamilton’s return to race-winning form at Ferrari has made a future seat there harder to secure.

That helps explain why Ferrari remains central to the discussion. The Italian team has 250 race wins and 16 constructors’ titles across 77 seasons, while Aston Martin has yet to record a Formula 1 win or a constructors’ championship. Formula1.com also reported that Ferrari junior Rafael Camara said Bearman’s route as a Ferrari-backed driver had given him extra motivation as he works toward Formula 1.

Bearman’s current base is Haas F1 Team, which has raced in Formula 1 since 2016 and is still chasing its first win. Autosport recently reported on the team’s push to reach the 2026 budget cap, adding context to the environment around Bearman as speculation over his next step continues.
