Oscar Piastri took pole position for the Bahrain Grand Prix on 13 April 2025 with a 1:29.841 lap for McLaren. George Russell qualified second for Mercedes, 0.168 seconds slower, at round 4 of the season at Bahrain International Circuit.
Qualifying
Charles Leclerc secured third for Ferrari with a Q3 time of 1:30.175. Andrea Kimi Antonelli placed fourth for Mercedes on 1:30.213, and Pierre Gasly took fifth for Alpine F1 Team on 1:30.216.
Piastri led the session across the final phase after progressing from Q1 with 1:31.392 and Q2 with 1:30.454. Russell reached Q3 with earlier laps of 1:31.494 in Q1 and 1:30.664 in Q2 before his 1:30.009 put him alongside the front row.
Top 10 grid
Lando Norris qualified sixth for McLaren with a Q3 lap of 1:30.267. Max Verstappen took seventh for Red Bull on 1:30.423, Carlos Sainz was eighth for Williams on 1:30.680, Lewis Hamilton was ninth for Ferrari on 1:30.772, and Yuki Tsunoda completed the top 10 for Red Bull on 1:31.303.
Key gaps
The margin from pole to third place was 0.334 seconds between Piastri and Leclerc. Antonelli missed Leclerc by 0.038 seconds, while Gasly was a further 0.003 seconds back in fifth.
