Max Verstappen took pole position for the Bahrain Grand Prix on 2 March 2024 with a Q3 lap of 1:29.179 at the Bahrain International Circuit. Charles Leclerc qualified second for Ferrari, 0.228 seconds behind Verstappen on a 1:29.407.
Qualifying
George Russell secured third for Mercedes with a 1:29.485, while Carlos Sainz placed fourth for Ferrari on 1:29.507. Sergio Pérez completed the top five for Red Bull with a 1:29.537 after reaching Q3.
Fernando Alonso qualified sixth for Aston Martin with a 1:29.542, and Lando Norris took seventh for McLaren on 1:29.614. Oscar Piastri put the second McLaren eighth with a 1:29.683, while Lewis Hamilton was ninth for Mercedes on 1:29.710.

Nico Hülkenberg completed the top 10 for Haas F1 Team with a Q3 lap of 1:30.502. Every driver in the top 10 reached Q3 in the opening qualifying session of round one.
