Bahrain Grand Prix switches to Sepang for 2026

Autosport reports the 2026 Bahrain Grand Prix will move to Sepang after disruption to its original slot, while BBC Sport says F1 may end the season in Europe.

Autosport reported that the 2026 Bahrain Grand Prix will be held at Sepang after the race could not run in its original April slot, or later in the year, because of the Iran war. The same report said Bahrain reached an agreement with the FIA, Formula 1 and Malaysia to relocate the event, with Pirelli already assessing the tyre demands of a return to Sepang.

The calendar change sits alongside a wider scheduling issue in the region. BBC Sport reported that Formula 1 chief executive Stefano Domenicali said the 2026 season would finish in Europe if the conflict in the Middle East made it impossible to stage the planned final races in Qatar and Abu Dhabi.
