2026 Bahrain Grand Prix set for Sepang switch
Formula 1’s 2026 Bahrain Grand Prix is set to be held at Sepang on 2-4 October, with ticket sales launched and Malaysia returning to the calendar.
Formula 1’s 2026 Bahrain Grand Prix will be held at Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia on 2-4 October, according to Formula1.com, while Autosport reported the race will mark the series’ first visit to Malaysia since 2017. Formula1.com said Bahrain International Circuit and Sepang International Circuit have launched ticket sales for the event.
BBC Sport reported that Malaysia will host the race in place of the Bahrain round after that event was called off earlier in the season. Autosport also reported that Sepang will stage the weekend under the Bahrain Grand Prix name.
Autosport linked the switch to conflict in the Middle East, while Formula1.com’s ticket announcement confirmed the revised venue in Malaysia. If the plan goes ahead as outlined by those outlets, Formula 1 will return to a circuit that last appeared on the championship calendar in 2017.
