Oscar Piastri won the Azerbaijan Grand Prix 2024 by 10.910s from Charles Leclerc, as Lando Norris rose from 15th to fourth and Max Verstappen kept the standings lead.
Oscar Piastri won the Azerbaijan Grand Prix at Baku City Circuit on 15 September 2024, beating Charles Leclerc by 10.910 seconds. The McLaren driver started second and completed round 17 in 1:32:58.007, while pole-sitter Leclerc finished second for Ferrari.
Race
George Russell took third for Mercedes after starting fifth, finishing 31.328 seconds behind Piastri. Lando Norris placed fourth for McLaren from 15th on the grid and set the fastest lap on lap 42 with a 1:45.255.
Max Verstappen finished fifth for Red Bull from sixth on the grid and scored 10 points. Fernando Alonso came home sixth for Aston Martin, with Alexander Albon seventh and Franco Colapinto eighth for Williams.
Key movers
Lewis Hamilton climbed from 19th on the grid to ninth for Mercedes and added two points. Oliver Bearman started 10th and finished 10th for Haas F1 Team to take the final point.
Championship
Verstappen remained first in the drivers' championship after the race with 313 points. Norris stayed second on 254 points, while Leclerc held third on 235 points.
