Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll will start from the back of the grid for the 2026 Azerbaijan Grand Prix after taking penalties for new Honda power unit components, according to Motorsport.com. The report said both Aston Martin drivers were moved to the rear ahead of the race in Baku.

Motorsport.com also reported that Alonso and Stroll had already taken grid drops earlier in the season as Honda dealt with reliability problems. Alonso, a 32-time Grand Prix winner, came into the weekend 19th in the 2026 drivers' championship on three points.

Stroll was 21st in the standings and still without a point. His Formula 1 career record includes one pole position and three podiums, while Aston Martin is still chasing its first race win as a constructor.
