Aston Martin targets Hungary, Honda eyes Zandvoort
BBC Sport reports Aston Martin plans its first major 2026 upgrade for Hungary, while Autosport says Honda is targeting Zandvoort for a new power unit.
BBC Sport reported that Aston Martin plans its first major 2026 performance upgrade for the Hungarian Grand Prix, with team boss Adrian Newey pointing to Budapest for the team’s first big step of the season. Aston Martin is in its eighth active Formula 1 season across 1959-2026 and has yet to score a race win or a constructors' title.
Autosport separately reported that Honda is aiming to introduce an updated power unit on Aston Martin’s car at the Dutch Grand Prix. The outlet cited Honda trackside general manager and chief engineer Shintaro Orihara, who indicated in the brand’s Belgian Grand Prix preview that two races remained before the update.
Autosport also reported that Fernando Alonso dismissed suggestions that the Hungarian Grand Prix upgrade would decide his Formula 1 future. Honda’s Formula 1 record includes three wins and no titles, but neither reported Aston Martin or Honda change has been officially confirmed here.
