Woody Johnson Aston Martin stake move reported
Formula1.com, Autosport and Motorsport.com reported Woody Johnson has taken a minority Aston Martin F1 stake and joined its board as vice chairman.
Woody Johnson is reported to have taken a minority stake in Aston Martin’s Formula 1 team and to be joining the board as vice chairman. Formula1.com reported the board appointment, while Autosport and Motorsport.com said the US billionaire had acquired the minority holding in the team.
Autosport and Motorsport.com identified Johnson as Robert Wood Johnson, heir to the Johnson & Johnson family fortune. The same outlets reported that he owns the New York Jets and has a major stake in a Premier League football club.
If completed as reported, the move would bring another investor into a British Formula 1 constructor still chasing its first race win and first constructors' championship. Aston Martin has competed across eight active seasons from 1959 to 2026 and has yet to score a victory or take the constructors' title.
