Andrea Kimi Antonelli received a three-place grid drop after a yellow-flag infringement in Hungarian GP qualifying, dropping from fourth on the grid.

Andrea Kimi Antonelli received a three-place grid drop for the 2026 Hungarian Grand Prix after a yellow-flag infringement in qualifying, as reported by Autosport, Motorsport.com and RaceFans. Those outlets said the Mercedes driver had originally qualified fourth at the Hungaroring.

Earlier on Saturday, Autosport and Motorsport.com reported that Antonelli was under investigation by the stewards for a suspected breach under yellow flags. RaceFans also reported that the decision carried one penalty point, while BBC Sport reported that Lando Norris took pole in Hungary and that Lewis Hamilton was also penalised.

The sanction affects the grid for a driver who arrived at the weekend leading the 2026 drivers' championship on 219 points. Antonelli is in his second Formula 1 season with Mercedes, and the team is in its 19th season as a constructor.
