Autosport and Motorsport.com reported that Antonelli recovered from a grid penalty and a mid-race pit stop on his way to the win, and BBC Sport said the race was incident-packed. Those outlets, along with RaceFans, reported that he finished ahead of Mercedes team-mate George Russell.

Antonelli arrived at Monza leading the drivers’ championship and remains first on 267 points, with Russell second on 201. The Italian has now made 33 Formula 1 starts and recorded five wins, five pole positions and 10 podiums.
