Alpine have confirmed Mike Elliott as chief technical officer, with reports saying the former Mercedes design boss will lead technical work at Enstone.

Alpine have confirmed Mike Elliott as chief technical officer, adding a senior technical figure to the Formula 1 team. Formula1.com reported that Elliott last worked in F1 with Mercedes and is now returning to the championship with Alpine, while BBC Sport identified him as the former Mercedes design boss.

Autosport and Motorsport.com reported that Elliott will oversee the technical and engineering functions at Alpine’s Enstone factory, with the role created as part of a broader technical structure. He joins from Mercedes, a constructor that has raced in 19 seasons from 1954 to 2026, winning 138 Grands Prix and eight titles; Lewis Hamilton accounts for 84 of those wins.
