Alpine condemned online abuse after Franco Colapinto’s Baku crash, with multiple outlets reporting hateful comments also targeted the team and FIA stewards.

Alpine has condemned online abuse after Franco Colapinto’s crash in the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. Formula1.com reported the team issued a statement after the Baku race, while Autosport, Motorsport.com and RaceFans also said Alpine spoke out following the reaction to the incident involving its driver.

Autosport and Motorsport.com reported that abusive messages were directed at both Alpine and FIA stewards after the race. RaceFans reported Alpine said this had become a recurring issue. None of the cited reports mentioned any further sporting penalty or other official action beyond the team’s response.

Colapinto, 23, has made 36 Formula 1 starts from 2024 to 2026 and his best finish is sixth. He is 12th in the 2026 drivers’ championship on 27 points, while Alpine team-mate Pierre Gasly is 10th on 41 points; Gasly has 187 entries, one win and six podiums.
