Lando Norris won the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2024 at Yas Marina Circuit, beating Carlos Sainz by 5.832 seconds. Charles Leclerc climbed from 19th on the grid to finish third as Max Verstappen remained top of the drivers' championship on 437 points.

Norris converted pole position into victory for McLaren with a race time of 1:26:33.291, while Sainz took second for Ferrari from third on the grid at +5.832. Leclerc delivered the biggest rise at the front by moving from 19th to third for Ferrari, finishing 31.928 seconds behind the winner.

Lewis Hamilton also made up ground at Yas Marina Circuit, taking fourth for Mercedes after starting 16th and finishing at +36.483. George Russell placed fifth from sixth on the grid for Mercedes, Verstappen finished sixth for Red Bull from fourth, and Pierre Gasly took seventh for Alpine F1 Team after starting fifth.

Key movers

Nico Hülkenberg scored four points in eighth for Haas F1 Team after lining up seventh, and Fernando Alonso finished ninth for Aston Martin from eighth on the grid. Oscar Piastri dropped from second on the grid to 10th for McLaren and collected the final point at +1:23.821.

Kevin Magnussen set the fastest lap on lap 57 with a 1:25.637. The result left Verstappen leading the drivers' championship on 437 points, with Norris second on 374 and Leclerc third on 356.
